Wedding Planning: Tasks for the Groom

The modern groom wants to be a part of the wedding planning process.

How many times have we all heard that a groom has no business participating in the wedding planning?  Many think that the groom should merely agree with the bride when it comes to making the decisions.  These are outdated opinions and today, more and more grooms are embracing the wedding planning process by helping the bride with this overwhelming task.  So what are some tasks that can be assigned to the groom?

One of the more important tasks can certainly be taken care of by the future groom–the purchasing of the wedding bands.  The entire point of a wedding is to pledge your undying love for one another while exchanging rings.  Why not elect the groom to pick out these sacred pieces of jewelry?  Of course the bride-to-be can have input, but wouldn’t it be romantic if the groom were to surprise her with another ring of her dreams?  If she enjoys platinum wedding rings, then browse rings that will complement her engagement ring.  The groom’s ring can be selected from a selection of mens rings and can match her ring or not.

What other tasks do you think are appropriate for the groom to perform for the wedding planning?
